The Engineering Department in Kirin Brewery has amassed technical expertise in all aspects of building and operating production facilities. This includes the installation and maintenance of new equipment in breweries, the promotion of energy efficiency, the construction of new plants for other Kirin Group companies in Japan and abroad, and the provision of technical assistance to them.
Kirin Engineering has acquired a wealth of know-how through its experience in designing and operating plants for alcohol beverages and pharmaceuticals. The company uses its expertise to provide corporate clients with end-to-end engineering solutions for building plants—including planning, designing, procurement, construction, test runs and delivery. In particular, Kirin Engineering conducts R&D in total plant engineering for machinery and equipment necessary to construct food and pharmaceutical plants. A complete project covers the procurement of production equipment; the construction of a logistic facility, a logistic information system and a utility facility; the procurement of machinery and equipment necessary to build a plant; the construction of a plant itself; the installation of equipment in a plant; and, finally, turning the completed plant over to a corporate client.
Kyowa Hakko Kirin conducts research in platform technologies related to antibody engineering. The company completes its value chain of production process technology consisting of enhanced antibody activity technology and fully human antibody production technology, enabling it to create future assets through biotechnology-based pharmaceuticals.
