Kirin Beverage continuously refines and upgrades the taste of black tea, green tea and coffee in its product lineup. It also works on technology to develop new products that offer added benefits to customers. Companies in the group work together to develop products with distinct advantages as well as to refine production and quality control engineering in an effort to deliver refreshing new tastes to customers in Japan and other Asian countries.

Kirin Beverage is working to make its PET bottles lighter and more recyclable. A two-liter PET bottle called a "pecology bottle" introduced in 2003 for Alkali Ion Water weighed 42 grams, down from the 63 grams of the previous design, and it was lightened even further to 38 grams in 2010. The new advanced pecology bottle is not only lighter, but easier to squash prior to disposal for recycling. In addition, it has a universal design and is easy to hold and easy to pour from. The company is also refining an aseptic filling process performed at room temperature in the production line, which has eliminated the need for heat-resistant, thicker and heavier plastic bottles and made possible the lightweight design of the pecology bottle. The company applies an eco-friendly approach to redesigning other parts of plastic bottles, such as caps made of a single material and easy-to-tear-off plastic bottle labels.
